PhotoWhat is the Tiny Desk AI trend?
It started in October 2026 with an 'All-Loss Tiny Desk' video: the college coaches who lost that weekend, swapped into Charlie Wilson's Tiny Desk concert. NFL fans followed with their own versions the same week.
Fans now make their own versions with themselves, their friends or their office band. Use your own face or someone who said yes: we don't allow celebrities, athletes, coaches or other public figures without their written consent.
How to make it
- Upload the reference clip (5–15 seconds).
- Upload one photo of the person who should take the singer's place.
- Pick Standard (cheaper, good for a quick share) or HD 720p, then press Make my video. The original sound is kept.
- Wait 2–5 minutes (it is also saved on your Credits page), then download the MP4 and post it.
Which clip to use
- Use a 5–15 second clip where the singer is clearly visible from the very first frame and faces the camera most of the time.
- One clear main person works best: the tool replaces the most prominent person in the clip.
- MP4 or MOV, up to 60 MB. Use footage you are allowed to use, such as a clip you filmed or one licensed for remixing.
Which photo works best
- A sharp, well-lit photo facing forward, one person only.
- Upper body is better than a tight face crop; avoid sunglasses and heavy filters.
- Only upload photos of yourself or of people who agreed to it. No celebrities or public figures.
Questions
Which song is in the Tiny Desk AI trend?
The best-known version uses Charlie Wilson's Tiny Desk performance of 'Outstanding' (originally by The Gap Band).
Can I put several people in the band?
Each video replaces one main person. To fill a whole band, make one video per person, or start from clips that focus on one performer.
Can I use a coach, athlete or celebrity?
No, not without their written consent. Use your own photo or a friend who agreed. Videos of public figures made without consent will be removed.
How much does it cost?
2 credits per second in Standard quality and 4 per second in HD 720p. The longest clip (15 s) is 30 credits in Standard or 60 in HD, about $3.30–$4 for HD depending on the pack. If a video fails, the credits come back automatically.
Do you keep my photos?
Uploads and results are deleted after 7 days. We do not use them for anything else.
How long does it take?
Usually 2–5 minutes. You can close the tab: the finished video waits in My videos.
